Alexander Miller, M.D.
Dr. Alexander R. Miller is the Director of Surgical Oncology and the Director of the Cancer Risk and Prevention Clinic at the Texas Cancer Clinic. He has spent the last decade devoted to cancer research, education, and treatment. Since 2001, Dr. Miller has directed the only cancer genetic counseling and testing center in San Antonio. Genetic testing for cancer can help reduce risk and prevent cancers in individuals and their family members with elevated risks of this disease.
Dr. Miller, who trained in cancer surgery at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston and spent over 10 years at the Mayo Clinic, is a Harvard undergraduate. He has received countless awards for excellence in research, surgery and education. He joins TCC after serving as the Director of Surgical Oncology for the Cancer Therapy and Research Center (CTRC). He was also the Medical Director of the HEB Ambulatory Surgery Center and Director of the Cancer Prevention and Risk Assessment Clinic at CTRC. He was the principal investigator for several research studies involving genetic testing among Hispanic women and an Ovarian Cancer Screening Trial. His work has been reported in more than forty publications.
