Bradley R. Prestidge, MD

Dr. Bradley Prestidge is the founder, President, CEO, and Medical Director of the Texas Cancer Clinic and Texas Prostate Institute, both in San Antonio. He has the largest prostate seed implant program in Texas and the remaining South Central United States. With more than 20 years experience in brachytherapy, Dr. Prestidge is considered an international expert in the field with particular expertise in permanent prostate brachytherapy dosimetric analysis and defining implant quality. He teaches courses in advanced prostate seed implantation and High Dose Rate implantation every month to physicians from all over the US in his state-of-the-art facility.

Dr. Prestidge received his undergraduate training at San Jose State University, Majoring in neurobiology, and his subsequent Master’s degree in Toxicology. He attended the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences where he received his medical degree. Postgraduate work included Internal Medicine and Radiation Oncology at Stanford University, where he learned brachytherapy techniques.

When activated into the US Air Force, Dr. Prestidge served at Wilford Hall Medical Center, the largest Military Hospital in the United States, located in San Antonio, as the Chairman of the Department of Radiation Oncology from 1989-1998. He initiated the first prostate brachytherapy program in the military healthcare system and trained physicians from throughout the country. He was the consultant to the Surgeon General for five years.

The author of more than 50 peer reviewed journal articles and book chapters, Dr. Prestidge has served as a consultant in research and development for several of the seed manufacturing and equipment related companies. He sits on editorial boards of and is a reviewer for several journals. He has taught a refresher course in prostate brachytherapy at ASTRO and RSNA, and lectured at many major academic centers and meetings in the US, Europe, South America, and Japan.
