Ramiro Pino Ph.D.

Dr .Ramiro Pino was born and raised in Cuba. He received a scholarship to The University of Debrecen in Hungary and graduated in 1989 with an MS in Physics. He attended graduate school at the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research where he received his Ph.D. degree in Physics and the honorable title of “best graduate student.”

Dr. Pino received his postdoctoral training at the Eindhoven University of Technology, The Netherlands. He also received additional training in computational and medical physics at Rice University and Baylor College of Medicine, in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Pino worked for NOMOS Radiation Oncology as a medical physicist performing IMRT commissioning duties as well as training M.D.s, physicists, dosimetrists, and therapists in using IMRT equipment and technology. Dr. Pino’s strong background in research has lead to 40 published articles in science journals and books. He is also the coauthor of two patent applications in radiation therapy technology.

As a member of the American Association of Physicists in Medicine, Dr. Pino is licensed in the state of Texas to practice therapeutic radiological physics. He is fluent in English, Spanish, and Hungarian languages and can even speak a little Dutch. He is married with two daughters and a baby on the way.
